East Valley High school lacrosse is a parent run program through Sozo Sports. The program was adopted by Sozo Sports in order to provide Yakima Valley youth with opportunities to play lacrosse at the high school level, reduce barriers to participation and to grow the sport within the greater Yakima area. Per requirements of WHSBLA we are required to be affiliated with a high school to adopt the name but run as our own entity. East Valley is our sponsor school.
WHSBLA is Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association. It is the governing body of boys high school lacrosse in WA state. Lacrosse is not a WIAA sanctioned sport, with the help of WHSBLA the game of lacrosse has a place in Washington state and athletes have another opportunity for competitive sport that can lead them to college opportunities.
We are part of the Central Conference. Our league includes Chiawana, East Valley, Hanford, Hermiston, Kamiakin, Richland, Selah, Southridge, Walla Walla, Chesterton Academy, Gonzaga Prep, Lewis and Clark, Mount Spokane and Wenatchee High schools.
Without support from a school district, we are required to cover all of our costs. Field rental, WHSBLA membership dues, game fees, referee fees, coaches fees, purchase of equipment for practices are just some costs to running a varsity program. We are constantly working to obtain donations and sponsorships to help with annual costs.
